1. SSC GD 2023 Notification

The SSC GD 2023 Notification was released on 24th November 2023. The Staff Selection Commission will release the application for General Duty (GD). Candidates who have a desire to join the police force can join SSC GD. The minimum education requirement for applying for SSC GD should be 10th standard. The selection procedure for SSC GD consists of 4 stages i.e. CBT exam, Physical efficiency test PET, Physical standard test PST, and Medical test. Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD (General Duty) examination for the post of; 

  • Constable (GD), 
  • Central Industrial Security Post (CISF), 
  • Border Security Force (BSF), 
  • Central reserve police force (CRPF),
  • Secretariat Security Force (SSF),  
  • Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), 
  • Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 
  • Sepoy in NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau),
  • Rifleman GD in Assam Rifles (AR).

2. SSC GD CBT Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of SSC GD 2023 for computer-based exams, physical efficiency tests and physical standard tests are given below. 

2.1 Computer-based test (CBT) 

The  SSC GD 2023 computer-based exam contains 80 questions and the maximum mark is 140 marks for 1 hour duration.  SSC GD 2023 Computer-based exam also contains negative marks 0.5 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. 2 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.

2.2 Physical efficiency test (PET)

The shortlisted candidates are called for the physical efficiency test. There will be separate parameters for Male and female candidates.

2.3 Physical standard test (PST) 

Those who have qualified for the Physical efficiency test are called for the Physical standard test. The height and chest measurements of males and females are measurements. Below are the minimum measurement standards to qualify for SSC GD 2023.

3. SSC GD CBT Syllabus

The SSC GD 2023 computer-based exam consists of four subjects 

  • General Knowledge, 
  • Quantitative Aptitude, 
  • General Intelligence and  Reasoning
  • English Comprehension

General Intelligence and Reasoning Analogies, relationship concepts, spatial visualisation, visual memory, spatial orientation, non-verbal series,  coding and decoding, discrimination, observation, arithmetic number series, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, similarities, and differences, etc.
General Knowledge and General Awareness: India and its neighbouring countries, sports activities,  Economic scenarios, Indian History, General Polity,  Geography, Indian Culture, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc.
English/Hindi Basic comprehension will be tested in English/ Hindi, basic Hindi, and English will be tested, etc.
Elementary Mathematics Computation of Whole Numbers, Discount, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Decimals, and Fractions and the relationship between Numbers, Profit and Loss,  Percentages, Number Systems, Time and Work, Averages, Interest, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Proportion,  Ratio and Time, etc.
