The Staff Selection Commission Board announced the  SSC CGL Tier-1 2023 Revised Final Results was announced. The final list of shortlisted candidates for SSC CGL 2023 JSO, Statistical Investigator (SI) Grade-II, and other posts was released by SSC. The total number of candidates eligible to take the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 2 exam is 81,752 (all posts combined). 2. SSC CGL 2023 Exam

Along with SSC CGL Notification 2023, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) updates the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam pattern. The exam is conducted in two stages of objective type, Computer based tests.

2.1 SSC CGL 2023 Tier – I

The SSC CGL 2023 Tier-I is a Computer Base Test (CBT) that consists of 4 sections of 100 objective type questions with a total of 200 marks. The time allotted for finishing the exam is 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier-I is a screening test to filter the excess applicants, so the SSC CGL Tier-I score will not carry any weightage in the final results.

The four sections in the SSC CGL Tier-I exam are:

There will be three phases to the SSC CGL Tier-II exam: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.

6. SSC CGL 2023 Eligibility Criteria

6.1 Educational Qualification

SSC CGL Post Educational Qualification
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Account Officer.   Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University. 

Desirable Qualification: CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce / Masters in Business Studies

Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th 
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation
Research Assistant in National Human rights commission (NHRC) Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics from any recognized University. Candidates must have Statistics as a subject in all three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.   
All Other Posts Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent


6.2 Age Limit

The SSC CGL 2023 notification specifies an age limit range of 18-32 years for the exam. As per the notification, candidates who are 18 years old at the time of application can apply for the examination.

8. SSC CGL Selection Procedure

The SSC CGL 2023 Selection Procedure is a three-stage process. 

The First Stage: SSC CGL 2023 Tier -I

It is a computer-based test that will be conducted online for all those who are eligible for it and compulsory for all applicants.

The Second Stage: SSC CGL 2023 Tier -II 

This stage contains three papers 1,2 and 3. Paper 1 is compulsory for all candidates, while paper 2 & paper 3 are necessary for only a few applicable posts.

Measures of Dispersion, Measures of Central Tendency, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Random Variable and Probability Distributions, Software, and Basics of networking and cyber security. 


Paper III (only for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer positions). It consists of one subject which is given below, 


General Studies-Finance and Economics Part A: Finance and Accounts: Fundamental principles and basic concept of accounting
Part B: Economics and Governance: Comptroller & Auditor General of India, Finance Commission, Theory of Production and cost, India Economy, Economic Reforms in India, Money and Banking, Role of Information Technology in Governance, Theory of Demand and Supply, Forms of Market and price determination in different markets.

The in hand salary of SSC CGL 2023 may vary according to the pay grade of an employee. Generally the salary range may lie between 25,500 to 1,51,100 including HRA, DA, TA etc. Cities are classified into Cities X, Y, Z based on their population, cost of living, etc.

13. SSC CGL Salary Deduction

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an updated list of deductions that will be applicable on the salary of the candidates who have been selected for SSC CGL 2023.

The deduction list is divided into three categories – Basic, Special and Miscellaneous. The Basic deduction include: –

– Pension Contribution to NPS

– ESIC Contribution

– Income Tax and other Deductions as per Income Tax Act, 1961
