2. About the OICL AO 2023 Exam

The Oriental Insurance AO Exam Pattern 2023 is given below for two levels.

Phase- I: Preliminary Examination 

The preliminary examination will consist of a 100-mark Objective Test. This will be conducted online. This test time duration is 1 hour and would be divided into three portions, as follows:

There will be a negative marking of 1/4th of the given marks for each wrong response. Candidates who pass the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination.

Phase – II: Main Examination 

The OICL AO Main Test 2023 will consist of two exams. 

• Objective examination
• Descriptive examination 

Objective examination:  

The Objective examination will be a total of 200 questions, each worth one mark, and there will be a negative marking of 1/4th of the given marks for each wrong answer.

Descriptive Test: 

The English Language Test (Letter Writing -10 marks and Essay -20 marks) will be the Descriptive Test of 30 minutes and 30 marks. The descriptive test will be administered online in English. Each candidate must get a minimum score on each area of the objective exam individually to be considered for the Descriptive test evaluation/interview. Only candidates who pass the objective test and score well on the descriptive answer script will be considered.

8. OICL AO Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for OICL AO  consists of three stages i.e. Prelims exam, Mains exams, and interview.

• Stage 1: Prelims exam

Stage 1: Prelims exam

The OICL AO Preliminary Examination will consist of a 100-mark Objective Test administered online. The exam will last one hour and will consist of three sections. 1/4th of the marks will be removed for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for questions that are not attempted.

Stage 2: Mains exam

The OICL Main Examination comprises a 200-mark Objective Test and a 30-mark Descriptive Test. Both tests will be taken online. The Descriptive Test will be held immediately following the Objective Test.  The objective Test will last 2 hours and consist of four sections for a total of 200 marks. The Descriptive Test will be for 30 minutes Aspirants should give the in English for 30 marks i.e. (20 marks for  Essay and 10 marks for Letter Writing.

Stage 3: Interview

Candidates who pass the main examination will be shortlisted for the interview round.  The online examination and interview will be divided 80:20.The shortlisted candidates will be informed of the location, place, time, and date of the interview in the call letter.

11. OICL AO Cut-Off: Previous Year’s Cut-off Marks

13. OICL AO Salary Emoluments & Benefits

Basic pay of Rs.32795/- in the scale of Rs.32795-1610(14)-55335-1745(4)-62315 and other permissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments in Metropolitan Centres will be at Rs.51000/- per month. Other benefits, such as pension under the new PFRDA-governed pension system, gratuity, LTS, medical benefits, group personal accident insurance, and so on, would be provided under the rules. Officers are also entitled to Company / leased lodging under the regulations.  

14. OICL AO Probationary Period

The OICL Administrative Officer (AO) will be on probation for at least one year. OICL can extend this duration by six months or even one year. Aside from the probation period, candidates must also pass the Licentiate Examination administered by the Insurance Institute of India. The OICL maintains the power to remove candidates who fail the Licentiate Examination.

15. Guarantee Bond ICL AO

Candidates for the OICL AO position must provide a guaranteed bond to the company. According to this, candidates may not resign before a minimum of four years (including the probation term), failing which the candidate will be obligated to pay an amount equal to the compensation earned.

17. OICL AO Preparation Tips 2023

Before beginning their preparations for Oriental Insurance AO 2023, interested candidates should bear the following points in mind. 

• More test series and mock tests should be taken to become familiar with the pattern and sorts of questions.
• Practise past year exam papers to familiarise yourself with the types of questions. 
• Set a timer while practising on paper to help you master time management.

Pre-Examination Training (NON-RESIDENTIAL): SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy) candidates who prefer to take advantage of pre-examination training should register their names and other details with the Regional offices of The Oriental Insurance Co Ltd. closest to them. The Regional Offices will notify enrolled candidates of the date and location of the training. Such candidates would be required to attend the course at their own expense on the dates and locations specified. 19. OICL AO 2023 Admit Card & Call Letter

The Oriental Insurance AO Admit Card 2023 will be available on the official website shortly. Candidates who have completed the application form and made the payment will be issued an admission card. The admit card, which details the date and location of the exam, will be released a few days before the exam day. The shortlisted candidates will receive an interview invitation. A call letter for the interview will be mailed to the candidate’s Email ID.

20. OICL AO Prelims 2023 Result

The OICL Result will be posted on the official website. Candidates can see the result of the OICL Exam 2023 after a few days. The official website will have scores for both exams. Using their credentials, candidates can obtain the scorecard from the website.

21. OICL AO Interview Process

Interviews for OICL AO Interview Process 2023 were held for Candidates who have been shortlisted at the end of Phase II.candidates  will be invited to an interview by the Company, up to three times the number of vacancies in the appropriate stream/category. Interviews will take place at a limited number of locations. The online examination and the interview will be weighted 80:20, respectively. In the call letter, the shortlisted candidates will be informed of the centre, the address of the venue, and the time and date of the interview. 

22. OICL AO Mains 2023 Result

The final OICL AO results will be announced shortly after the interview. It will be determined by the scores obtained in the Mains exam and the interview in the ratio of 80:20. The final merit list will decide the seniority of the candidates who have been shortlisted.
