Exam Syllabus
LIC AAO syllabus for the recruitment exam is widely spread and the candidates appearing for the exam need to go through the LIC AAO syllabus well before starting to prepare for the exam.
Reasoning: This section is common for all candidates in both prelims and mains exam. It includes logical and analytical reasoning. Candidates can refer to Logical Reasoning for detailed reasoning syllabus.
Quantitative Aptitude: This section includes questions related to mathematics and data interpretation. This is common for the preliminary exam but applicable only for LIC AAO Generalist mains exam.
English Language: This section includes comprehension, grammar-related questions, vocabulary, etc. for the preliminary exam. For the descriptive exam, it includes essay and letter writing.
Professional Knowledge: This section is a part of the mains exam for candidates opting for specializations in IT, CA, Actuarial, and Rajbhasha. This comprises questions related to the professional subject that the candidate has chosen.
General Awareness & Current Affairs: Candidates need to be completely aware of the static general knowledge of the country and the world. Also, all current events and inventions across the world to qualify in this section.
Insurance and Financial Market Awareness: Everything related to the insurance sector: the schemes, policies, organizations, etc. is a part of this section.

Candidates should be a graduate (Degree) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for the LIC AAO exam is 20 years. Age-relaxation varies from one category to another. The following table tells the LIC AAO Age Eligibility for different categories and posts:

LIC AAO offers a provision of age relaxation for candidates from all reserved categories. Candidates must keep in mind the LIC AAO Age Limit before filling the application form. Relaxation of the upper age limit for the various categories is shown in the table below.

LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria as per Nationality mandates a candidate to be a resident of the prescribed states only. Candidates belonging to these states will be eligible to apply for LIC AAO. An applicant must fulfill any one of the following conditions:
- A citizen of India
- A citizen of Nepal
- A citizen of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1st January 1962
- Indian by origin, who has migrated Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of staying permanently in India.
