JE (Junior Engineers) is the backbone of the various Govt works Department. The posts are Group „B‟ (Non-Gazetted), in Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) of pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission. SSC JE Age Limit

SSC offers a provision of age relaxation for candidates from all reserved categories. Candidates must keep in mind the SSC JE Age Limit before filling the application form. Relaxation of the upper age limit for the various categories is shown in the table below.

SSC JE Nationality

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria as per Nationality mandates a candidate to be a resident of the prescribed states only.  Candidates belonging to these states will be eligible to apply for SSC JE. An applicant must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

  • A citizen of India
  • A citizen of Nepal
  • A citizen of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1st January 1962
  • Indian by origin, who has migrated Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of staying permanently in India.

Tentative dates of issue of Notices of different Examinations are given in the Annual Calendar of Examinations. It is therefore advised to regularly visit the website of the Commission for latest updates.

Yes, One-Time Registration with the Commission is a mandatory prerequisite. On completion of One-Time Registration, candidates can apply online for any examination of the Commission.

No, If the candidate has registered once after 20-07-2018, she/ he has to use the same ‘Registration Number’ and ‘SSC Registration Password’ for applying to various examinations conducted by the Commission.

Check size and format of photograph and signature files. Scanned colour passport size photograph should be in JPEG format and file size of the photograph should be in the range of 20 Staff Selection Commission Frequently Asked Questions Page 2 KB to 50 KB. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). Similarly, scanned signature file should be in JPEG format having file size ranging from 10 KB to 20 KB. Image dimension of the signature should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height). The image of the signature should occupy at least 75% of the frame.
