The Staff Selection Commission has announced their 2023-2024 calendar in order to fill certain vaccines for that year, from which the SSC JE Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Examination, 2024 Paper-I (CBE) exam will be held in the months of May-Jun, 2024, with an application deadline of 29-Feb-2024 (Thursday) and a closing date of 29-Mar-2024 (Friday).

1. SSC JE 2023 Notification

The SSC JE 2023 notification was released on 26 July 2023 with 1324 (tentative) vacancies . The SSC JE 2023 exam is held by the SSC to select qualified candidates for Junior Engineer positions in the Indian Government’s Ministries, Departments, and Contracting Agencies in the fields of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying. The positions fall under Group B (Non-Gazetted). Candidates who take the SSC JE test have the chance of a lifetime to realize their aspiration of working in the desired government jobs in their core sector of graduation. 2. About SSC JE 2023 Exam

The SSC JE 2023 Exam is conducted in two tiers: Paper I and Paper II. The SSC JE Notification 2023 is released with dates and updates of the JE (Junior Engineer) Paper-I Exam for 2023.

Candidates appearing for the post of JE (Civil), and JE (quantity surveying & contract) should attempt Part A (civil & structural) of papers I & II. On the other hand, candidates appearing for JE (electrical) need to attempt Part B (electrical) & the candidates appearing for JE (mechanical) need to attempt Part C (mechanical) of Paper I & II.

2.1 SSC JE 2023 Paper-I Exam

SSC JE 2023 Paper-I Exam is a Computer Based Test(CBT) with objective-type questions. This is an exam with a total of 200 marks tested mainly on reasoning, general awareness, and basics in the applicant’s engineering stream.

SSC JE 2023 Paper II Exam is a conventional written test and purely technical exam tested for core knowledge in their respective stream of graduation. This exam mainly focuses on the applicant’s grip on technical knowledge. The candidate can attempt the exam in either Hindi or English .

5. SSC JE 2023 Online Application & Fee

The SSC JE 2023 Online registration is a simple process if you follow the below steps, which include:

 5.1 Online Registration:

  • Candidate needs an SSC login account to apply for any SSC post.
  • Go to the official website https://ssc.nic.in/ and go for the login or register now link.
  • Fill in the basic details like name, gender, parent’s names and other details as per the matriculation document.
  • Candidate has to provide a functioning mobile number and email id which will be verified on submission. 
  • Then you have to log in with a new username and password to complete the final submission process.

6.4 Nationality

Candidates applying for the SSC JE 2023 should be of Indian nationality if not they need a document certifying the eligibility to apply for the SSC JE Exam. Applicants are not prevented from attempting the exam but there will be a thorough verification during the document verification round.

Candidates not of Indian origin can apply for an eligibility certificate if they are:

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee before 01/01/1962
  • People migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the 4 United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle permanently in India.

8. SSC JE Selection Procedure

The SSC JE 2023 Selection Procedure is a 3-stage process that includes Online Exam, and document verification. Other than these three There is a physical efficiency Test for Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts

  • Online Exam:  The first level of the selection process is an objective type computer-based test. This Online Exam has Paper I and Paper II and Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks including a sectional cutoff there is a 0.25 mark as a penalty for every wrong answer. Each paper mark is taken into consideration for preparing the merit list. Qualifying this will allow the candidate to proceed to the next step. The language of the question paper will be in Hindi and English only.
