Applications complete in all respect should be submitted ONLINE to the chosen Railway Recruitment Board .

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master

The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify

This is applicable to all candidates irrespective of community or category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible

Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.

The CBAT shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.

There shall be no negative marking in CBAT.

Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

For all candidates

This test will be conducted for the post of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) will be of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit)

The Typing Test shall be conducted for which the number of candidates shall be equal to eight times the number of vacancies. Post this test a certain number of candidates will be filtered out for the next process

The candidates should have 30 words per minute (WPM) typing speed in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

Document Verification (DV)

For all candidates

Qualified candidates of 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable), will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

In addition, candidates equal to 50% of the number of vacancies for various posts will also be called for document verification.

English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage

 

General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and nonverbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and decoding, Other subtopics, if any Numerical operations.

Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

 

General Awareness: Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene,

The minimum educational qualification is a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.

RRB NTPC Age Limit

The minimum age to apply for the RRB NTPC exam is 18 years. Age-relaxation varies from one category to another. The following table tells the RRB NTPC Age Eligibility for different categories and posts:

RRB NTPC Nationality

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria as per Nationality mandates a candidate to be a resident of the prescribed states only.  Candidates belonging to these states will be eligible to apply for RRB NTPC. An applicant must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

  • A citizen of India
  • A citizen of Nepal
  • A citizen of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1st January 1962
  • Indian by origin, who has migrated Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of staying permanently in India.
